Floating Foundation Bargello Learn how to “float” bargello on a freezer paper foundation, creating all the strip sets  for a four-block repeat wallhanging.  In a 6-hour class, bring pre-cut strips, learn the technique and sew one of the four blocks (finish at home). Option: 2-day class includes “how-to” exercises to create your own bargello designs .

Playing Hopscotch: Jacket or Vest (Class sample: The Hopscotch Jacket pattern)  Play hopscotch on your favorite jacket or vest pattern (or the top of a jumper).  Fun, fast, and really easy!  Strip-piecing on a paper foundation. Fat quarters  make a color splash on the front, and team with a plain back and jazzy sleeves. 6-hour class.  Use your own  pattern or order The Hopscotch Jacket.
Crayon Play for the Young at Art Learn to make fabric crayon fake “photos” of yourself, your favorite person or pet, then turn them into a fabulous wall quilt that will rock ‘n’ roll and swivel its hips like Elvis!  You don’t need to be an artist—just bring your sense of fun!  Make pictures in class (kit provided): sew quilt at home.  3-hour class.

Making Faces:  A Crayon Quilt Remember all those school

The Fabulous Flavor Quilt A one-week residency for 100 elementary through high school students. Dye fabric in soft drink mix (cherry, lemon-lime etc.), use fabric paint for an autographed handprint border, color designs illustrating a curriculum-based theme with fabric crayons.  Students sew the  82” x 57” wall quilt by hand, with final construction completed by the artist.  Options include 2-day residency and 1-day teacher workshops.
